Will my partner still be allowed to work in Singapore?

NBAS invites you to a special insights panel on 14 April with lawyer Ian Lim, who heads the Employment & Labour team in TSMP Law Corporation. The Ministry of Manpower has recently announced changes to the rules allowing Dependant Pass holders to work in Singapore. Will partners and children of expats still be allowed to work in Singapore? This question is highly relevant for the expat community in Singapore and could also affect companies’ long-term decisions on where to locate their businesses. What do the announced changes really mean for Norwegian companies already in Singapore, or those considering establishing a business here? Through our special insights panel on 14 April, employers will get a comprehensive picture of Singapore’s position. Mr Lim will also recap the salient changes to Singapore’s employment laws over the last couple of years, before going into the changes in the immigration situation–including the question of work passes/dependant’s passes.

Ian Lim, Head of Employment and Labour, TSMP

Lawyer Ian Lim heads TSMP’s Employment & Labour team. His practice has a specific emphasis on all aspects of Singapore and regional employment law. Ian is the immediate past Chair of the Civil Practice Committee of the Law Society of Singapore and is an appointed Tribunal Magistrate of the Small Claims Tribunals in the State Courts as well as a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (FSIArb). He is also active in pro-bono and charitable work, with a focus on migrant worker welfare.
