Synopsis

As global food supply chains grow wider and more complex, tracing food to source becomes a challenge for consumers, producers, and regulators. But traceability is important for food safety, food defense, standardisation of products and can be put to use in the verification of sustainability claims: ensuring that what we consume is sourced, produced and transported in an environmentally-friendly manner.

How do agricultural chains and small-scale producers adapt to this growing call for transparency? How can specialty chemicals, technology and finance be applied to change the way we see our food? What does greater traceability mean for producers and consumers alike?

These and other questions are answered at EuroCham’s 22nd September sharing session on the convergence of sustainability and wellbeing, where key stakeholders present the case in favour of more transparent food supply chains from the points of view of production, consumption, and distribution.

This event is brought to you in partnership with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
