Synopsis
As healthcare organisations grapple with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and rapidly adapting operations to ensure the standard of care towards patients are not being compromised, health systems are evolving to better prepare for what the future of care should look like. One thing is certain; the pandemic has accelerated digital health technologies adoption such as telehealth, remote monitoring or virtual care and AI-powered chatbots at such unprecedented pace, pushing these technologies adoption years ahead into the fore.
But digitalisation of healthcare at such a rapid rate is not exactly a silver bullet for healthcare in such an unprecedented time, but a double-edged sword when taking into consideration the need for protection of healthcare information and health-related data generated along this journey. Readiness of healthcare systems to introduce and adopt new technologies rapidly while having appropriate levels of data security in place remain a question to be answered, making cybersecurity threats all the more real as the sector evolves and transforms digitally and for security measures to keep pace to ensure the integrity and safekeeping of these data. According to IBM’s Cost of a Data Breach Report, the average healthcare data breach costs its victim $7.13 million, the highest in 2020 across all industries, almost doubling the global average. 80% of these incidents also resulted in the exposure of customers’ personally identifiable information.
This webinar seeks to discuss some of the most relevant digital healthcare technologies here to stay, discuss the healthcare data protection challenges that come with the accelerated adoption of these emerging technologies, and debate the question around what might the perfect post-Covid-19 digital healthcare landscape look like in terms of values brought to the healthcare system and the patients, yet ensuring healthcare data remain safe from cyber exploitation.

Dr Vikram Shetty is a trained medical oncologist and after years of clinical practice moved to pharmaceutical roles. With 15 years in pharmaceutical in local, regional and global roles; across various therapy areas including oncology, hematology, CVRM and respiratory. He has worked at various multinational companies such as Celgene, BMS and Pfizer.
In his role as Medical Director; Dr Shetty leads a team that works towards medical affairs and clinical trials. In addition, he has led the development of the digital healthcare and genomics strategy for AZ Singapore. He is driven by innovation in the healthcare space and strives to build a patient-centric healthcare eco-system.
Mr Stefan Gentsch
Head of IT & Digital
Siemens Healthineers Singapore
Stefan Gentsch is heading the IT & Digital Solutions team with Siemens Healthineers Singapore. He has a total of 11 years of experience in IT and Cybersecurity. Stefan has worked in various IT and Cybersecurity roles across the US, Europe, and Asia. Within his first job as a Software Engineer, he discovered his passion for IT Security and subsequently pursued further studies on IT and network security. He then worked as an Ethical Hacker, trying to find security holes and vulnerabilities in his clients’ products and networks, allowing companies to address those holes before they are exploited by malicious hackers. Later, Stefan learned about the Risk Management aspect of security through a role in Cybersecurity Audit. Stefan came to Singapore in 2018 as a Cybersecurity Consultant at Siemens. After having consulted the Siemens Healthineers team on various topics, Stefan eventually joined Siemens Healthineers to help advance its digital and IT solutions portfolio for the Singapore market.
Stefan Gentsch holds a Masters of Science, Computer Science & IT Security from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He speaks English, German, and Dutch. Stefan is an avid traveller and hiker and has reverted to doing cross-Singapore hikes ever since the pandemic didn’t allow him to travel anymore.
Dr Ravi Sachdev
Senior Consultant Family Physician and Chairman of the Telehealth Steering Committee
Tan Tock Seng Hospital
Dr Ravi Sachdev is a Senior Consultant Family Physician and Chairman of the Telehealth Steering Committee at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He received his medical degree in Singapore, and postgraduate training in the UK, including a Master’s degree in Health Informatics from the University of Sheffield. As Deputy Chief Medical Informatics Officer, he is currently helping to drive the National Healthcare Group’s Care Transformation project. He co-authored the National Telemedicine Guidelines and chaired the Vital Signs Monitoring Workgroup as part of Singapore’s National Telehealth Initiative. Dr Sachdev is a clinical innovator, with several active projects in the areas of remote monitoring, medication compliance and emerging healthcare technologies, and has authored several articles on the future of healthcare and technology. His special interests lie in the application of the Internet of Things to Healthcare, as well as in Data Analytics and Machine Learning. He is a Dell-EMC-certified Data Scientist.

Anbu is a Managing Director at Fresenius Medical Care (FMC), the world’s leading provider of products and services for people with chronic kidney failure. Anbu manages the company’s Singapore and Brunei businesses. Anbu has been with FMC for over 3 years and was responsible for regional projects prior to this role.
Anbu has, over his career worked primarily in the Healthcare sector with corporates and consulting firms. Besides Singapore, Anbu has lived & worked in India, Hong Kong and the UK. Anbu holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.
