Synopsis

The November 2020 US Presidential Election comes with an explosive mix of leadership crisis, civil unrest, a festering pandemic, and severe economic disruption. The results of the US elections have always had reverberations in Asia and now, more than usual, as the future of a rules-based approach to trade, commerce, and climate change is at stake.

Against this backdrop, we consider:
– What factors could impact the US electoral outcome?
– What are the implications for Singapore’s economy and those of its partners—including China?
– How can businesses in different sectors better prepare for various scenarios as the election draws closer?
