POST-EVENT:

On 14th September, EuroCham’s recently renamed Circular Economy Committee (previously Packaging Committee) organised a site-visit to Neste’s Singapore Refinery.

We would like to thank our hosts Ms Tan Jia Hui 陈佳慧, Mr Kenneth Lim and Mr Christianto Renata for sharing Neste’s history and future sustainability plans for replacing fossil oil with renewable and recycled raw materials to help reduce crude oil dependency, greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.

We had the great opportunity to catch a glimpse of their expansion site, completed in April 2023, bringing production capacity up to 1.3 million tons annually. Singapore’s refinery produces renewable diesel, renewable feedstock for polymer and chemicals and sustainable aviation fuel using proprietary NEXBTL™ technology. The majority of raw materials used for production come from wastes and residues such as used cooking oil and waste animal fat. They have also pledged to reduce the share of conventional palm oil to zero of its global renewable raw material inputs by the end of 2023.

Thank you to all who joined us and made this event a successful one!
