Singapore Business Federation (SBF), supported by the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore (TRO), is organising a business mission to Taipei, Taiwan from 8 to 13 November 2015. The delegation will be led by SBF Chairman, Mr S.S. Teo.
Singapore and Chinese Taipei enjoy strong relations in many areas, especially business and trade. From May 2014 to January 2015, two-way trade increased 5 percent to US$22.03 billion, with local exports to the city-state rising 9 percent to US$15.79 billion. As of February, Singapore investment in Taiwan soared 86.24 percent to US$406 million, while Taiwan investment in Singapore surged 50.57 percent to US$131 million.
Taiwan-Singapore economic exchanges have risen steadily since the two nations inked the Agreement between Singapore and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu on Economic Partnership (ASTEP) in 2013. ASTEP is Chinese Taipei’s first economic partnership agreement with an ASEAN country, and also its first agreement with one of its top 10 trading partners. This Agreement opens up a world of opportunities for Singapore companies doing business in Chinese Taipei and doing business with Chinese Taipei companies.
Why join this mission:
– Establish strategic relationships with local government officials, businesses and industry partners
– Learn about some of Taipei’s competitiveness in manufacturing and high technology industries
– Identify and explore business opportunities in Taipei
