On the 16th of March 2016, the Regional Trade Committee will be meeting with the European Union Delegation to the Philippines.
Mr. Walter VAN HATTUM, head of the Trade and Economic Section of the EU Delegation to the Philippines, will update members on the recent EU-FTA Philippines developments.
Mr. Walter VAN HATTUM is heading the Trade and Economic Section of the EU Delegation to the Philippines since 2013, responsible for managing trade relations between the EU and the Philippines. Before this, he has been posted in Thailand (2001-2002) and Indonesia (2009-2013) and lived and worked in Cuba and Nigeria. Walter van Hattum holds MAs in Political Economy and Development as well as an MBA (Heriot-Watt). Before joining the European Commission in 2004 where he has been working on research, trade and humanitarian aid, he worked for Oxfam Novib, the International Labour Organization and as a diplomat for the Dutch Foreign Service in areas of trade and development.
