An Analysis of the Singapore Budget 2017

On the 13th of March, the Regional Finance & Tax Committee will meet to discuss and analysis this year’s budget. 2016 was a turbulent year for the international community, which will now result in 2017 being a year of uncertainty. This year also marks the end of the Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) Scheme, which was a broad government incentive program that was essential to many SMEs. There has been speculation that the Government will compensate for the lost scheme and the protectionist stance of many western economies by introducing tax incentives for companies that grow their international presence. All of these issues and many more will be discussed at the meeting.
