Join us for an in-person conversation with Francois Guibert, President of VALFRANC Consulting Company and former Executive Vice President of STMicroelectronics.
Francois will share about the semiconductor industry and its vital role in the global economy, providing insights on the complexity of chip design and manufacturing – and the outstanding level of capital required for the sector’s technology R&D and manufacturing infrastructure. He will also shed light on the lesser-known history of this sector, the business models that have led to successes for some regions and countries, and the introduction and development of new applications and products that aim to address the needs of high-technology industries – such as green mobility and appliances, biomedical tools, Internet of Things, manufacturing industry 4.0, robotics, and connectivity and safety. He will also describe the landscape and positioning of the top 20 players in this sector, highlighting the various challenges these players currently face.

Francois Guibert is currently the president of VALFRANC Consulting. With almost 40 years in the semiconductor sector, he has experience managing operations across Singapore, Europe, Greater China, South Asia, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the U.S. He was the former Executive Vice President and President for Greater China and South Asia region of STMicroelectronics, and has also held roles at Texas Instruments, the Economic Development Board of Mauritius, and Estin and Co. He previously served as chair of the EU-ASEAN Business Council and the Board of Advisors for the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association, and sat on the boards of EuroCham Singapore, Alliance Francaise de Singapour, as well as the Singapore Economic Development Board. Francois graduated with a degree in Electronic Engineering from Ecole Centrale Marseille, France.
