Synopsis
EuroCham Singapore’s Manufacturing & Supply Chain Committee is pleased to organise an exclusive site visit to the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore, a next-generation smart urban mobility hub redefining the future of manufacturing. Located within the Jurong Innovation District, the facility integrates advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital twin technology to create a highly automated, flexible, and human-centric production environment. As one of Hyundai’s global innovation pillars, HMGICS positions Singapore at the forefront of sustainable mobility and advanced manufacturing innovation .
This visit offers members a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insights into how cutting-edge technologies are transforming manufacturing processes and enabling new models of production and customer engagement. Beyond automotive manufacturing, the facility also demonstrates broader applications of automation and innovation—from smart urban solutions to sustainable systems—highlighting how industry players can adapt to evolving supply chain dynamics and future-ready manufacturing ecosystems.

Smart Farm (L1 and L3)
With two smart farms located within our facility, HMGICS aims to showcase and demonstrate that robotics, technology and automation can enable even a country like Singapore to ramp up agricultural activities.
During the Smart Farm tour, participants will get to experience harvesting and packing their own vegetables, as well as tasting the vegetables grown in the farm.
Factory VR Tour (L3)
Witness a new, revolutionary manufacturing process that is highly automated, modular and advanced in this immersive 3D VR experience.
Skytrack Experience (L5)
The Skytrack at HMGICS is the only rooftop driving track in Singapore. Here, embark on a ride with the made-in-Singapore EVs, allowing participants to experience thrilling driving dynamics and fast turns around corners.
Each car can take up to 3 passengers, and it will be 2 rounds around a ~600m roof top track, up to 80kph.
*Please note: Before the ride, everyone would be required to sign a liability form.

Mr Hoo We Tak
Head of Process Innovation,
Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS)
Hoo We Tak is HMGICS’s Head of Process Innovation. His role is to drive Digital Transformation to help building smart manufacturing capability within the group. This is achieved through development of use case applications at HMGICS, with a vision for global deployment.
With over 17 years of experience in various manufacturing and operations roles, We Tak has spent the last 5 years dedicated to driving value through organization-wide Digital Transformation and change management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
Mr Karl Reynders
Vice President, Procurement Engineering & Electronics Manufacturing
The LEGO Group
Karl, a Belgian citizen, has been residing in Singapore and China for the past twenty-five years. Karl began his career with the Philips Group, which brought him to Singapore at the end of the nineties. He led several global Business Units within the Group from Singapore. The Philips Group also introduced Karl to mainland China, where he assumed the Board Directorship of some Joint Ventures. After spending approximately five years in Shanghai and Beijing working for Belgian Multinationals, Karl joined the LEGO Group in the Shenzhen office. He moved back to Singapore at the beginning of the Covid period. Within the LEGO Group, Karl is responsible for the global contract manufacturing portfolio, as well as all Technology Hardware Partnerships and Sourcing. This requires him to spend a considerable amount of time in Europe.
Karl holds several degrees in Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, and a Master of Business Administration. He is also a certified International Director. Within the Singapore community, Karl has worked with several governmental institutions, as well as the Belgian and European Business Communities, over the years. In his free time, Karl can be found on the tennis courts and running tracks.
