Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Mr Lawrence Wong, delivered his third Budget speech on 16 February 2024. The Minister started with outlining the mixed economic outlook arising from continued geopolitical contestations and the need to act swiftly to combat climate change. Moreover, national economic growth in the past year was very modest, at 1,1%. Amidst all these challenges, the Minister announced high ambitions to strengthen the nation and unveiled the many initiatives that will drive a resilient and thriving economy.

Speakers & Panellists

Ms Jacqueline Poh
Managing Director
Singapore Economic Development Board

Ms Poh is the Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). She was previously Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office Strategy Group. Ms Poh was also the founding Chief Executive of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), and Managing Director of the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA).

She has also held key positions in the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defence. Ms Poh is an alumnus of Oxford, Cambridge, INSEAD (MBA) and Stanford. She currently sits on the Boards of SingHealth, the Singapore Institute of Technology and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research. She is the Chairperson of the DesignSingapore Advisory Board and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation.


Mr Rohan Solapurkar
Tax Partner

Rohan has more than 25 years of experience in International Tax and is the tax leader of the Consumer Products Industry across South East Asia. He is the Business Tax Leader for Deloitte in Singapore. He has been advising large multinational companies most of which are Regional Headquarters based in Singapore on their tax strategies including tax minimisation strategies, cash repatriation strategies, entry strategies, etc. in Singapore and the region.

Rohan has been advising several large multinational companies on India entry strategies. He is a regular speaker at seminars and speaks at the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals and Singapore Tax Academy. His clients include a diverse range in different sectors such as IT, Hospitality, Real Estate, Commodity Trading companies, Infrastructure and Media. Rohan is also part of the Asia Pacific  International Centre of Excellence team.

Rohan has a Bachelor in Commerce Degree and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and an Accredited Tax Advisor in Singapore. He was the Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India – Singapore Chapter.


Mr Federico Donato
Past President
European Chamber of Commerce (Singapore)

Federico serves as strategic advisor and board member to listed and non-listed companies and is a council member of institutions including Singapore Business Federation, EuroCham Singapore, and EU Asean Business Council.

Federico has been President of both the European and the Italian Chambers of Commerce in Singapore for two terms each. Before opening the Singapore office of MG Partners, Federico spent twenty years in the banking industry covering different roles in major global players including Credit Suisse, Intesa Sanpaolo and UBI Bank, and developed an extensive experience in the wide spectrum of the wealth management industry becoming an expert in family business and advising Ultra High Net Worth Individuals, MNCs, Institutions and Pension Funds.

In the last ten years Federico has been involved in many industry engagements and the public private dialogue that brough to the entry into force of the EU Singapore Free Trade Agreement and the EU Singapore Partnership. Since several years Federico become a convinced advocate of the Sustainable agenda, leveraging on the strong focus of European businesses and institutions on this matter.

Federico graduated in financial markets at Bocconi University in Finance and was visiting student at Stern School of Business, New York University.
