Sustainability is an important topic for companies around the world and as such EuroCham Singapore has chosen it as its theme of the year. Sustainability is becoming a central part of core business strategy and HR has an important leadership role to play. In this session we shall discuss how HR is becoming increasingly important and responsible for sustainability issues such as sustainable workforce, contingent workforce, leadership awareness, CSR, employer branding and work across stakeholders. The HR role, however, is rarely defined clearly for HR professionals. In this session, we shall see how developing and executing sustainability strategies offers a great opportunity for HR leaders and will become increasingly important in the future.
Michele Lemmens will share perspectives with HR leaders on why sustainability is becoming more important and exchange with participants what their role can and could be. She will give examples of how HR can set the momentum for the adoption of more sustainable practices. More specifically, she will touch upon topics such, leadership roles, KPIs, attracting millennials and whether circular economy applies to HR practices and challenge the traditional view of what the role of HR professionals should be.
