EuroCham in collaboration with Insead and HayGroup hosted a breakfast talk about multicultural managers and professionals in global companies. For example, as L’Oreal transformed itself from a very French business into a global leader, it has grappled with the tension that is at the heart of every global enterprise: achieving economies of scale and scope, which requires some uniformity and integration of activities across markets. However, serving regional and national beauty markets also requires the adaptation of products, services, and business models to local conditions. Yves doz and Hae-Jung developed a set of propositions and recommendations about how to get the most from multicultural managers and utilize powerful talent.
