The National Blue Ocean Strategy Unit (NBOS) and the Government of Malaysia are jointly organising the Global Blue Ocean Award competition in conjunction with the International Blue Ocean Strategy Week.

The Global Blue Ocean Awards recognise highly creative and innovative initiatives around the world. The essence of blue ocean strategy is delivering significantly high value or impact for customers (or for the people) at relatively low cost, and doing so rapidly. The Global Blue Ocean Awards will be given to projects or initiatives that demonstrate high levels of creativity through the impact that they deliver while reducing costs relative to more conventional ways of doing things. The execution of the projects or initiatives is also crucial and this is reflected in the criteria for determining the awards.

Winners will be recognised in 6 categories i.e. entrepreneurship, safety & security, volunteerism, community transformation, women empowerment and integrated services delivery along with an overall winner. The winner for each category will be flown to Malaysia (fully paid trip) for the presentation of the awards on 16 August 2016, during the International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy. The awards will be given by the Prime Minister of Malaysia as part of a gala dinner.

NBOS is encouraging more participation from both local as well as international associations/companies/individuals. Details about the International Blue Ocean Strategy Week and the Global Blue Ocean Award are available at http://icbos.com.my/ and http://bosawards.com/. The deadline for the competition is 30 July 2016.

The Global Blue Ocean Awards will be held on 16 August 2016 during the Gala Dinner at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), Putrajaya, Malaysia.
