Synopsis

The European Chamber of Commerce, Singapore has embraced the topic of Sustainability as the main focus of its activities in 2020 and will execute a series of activities under the title “European Excellence in Sustainability” including breakfast talks, surveys, a white book and in November, 2020 – the Sustainability Awards. The project is in line with the commitments and ambitions of Singapore, towards the 2015 Paris Agreement.

For our first event on the 18th of February at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy – NUS. Three European companies (Alstom, BMW Group, Pirelli) from the mobility sector will present their profile and sustainability efforts to other EuroCham members, government representatives, stakeholders, university students and alumni, moderated by Francesco Mancini. 

Join us for this important event to find out how the future of mobility will be shaped and discover more about these companies and their present and future initiatives.

To ensure all participants’ safety in the current coronavirus situation, the capacity of this event is limited to 50 people.

Mr Francesco MANCINI

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy – NUS 

Francesco Mancini is Associate Dean & Co-director (Executive Education) and Associate Professor in Practice at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). In his capacity of Associate Dean for Executive Education at the Lee Kuan Yew School, Francesco leads the School’s training programs for government officials and corporate leaders, running over 60 programs a year in over 20 countries, including Southeast Asia, China, India, Central Asia, and the Middle East. He is also a Non-resident Senior Adviser at the International Peace Institute (IPI), a member of the Research Committee of the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) in Sidney, Australia, an Honorary Fellow at the National University of Singapore’s Middle East Institute (MEI), and a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Peacebuilding. He regularly lectures at academic institutions and international conferences, and appears as global affairs commentator on news outlets, including BBC, CNBC, Channel NewsAsia, and Channel 8 (Singapore’s Chinese language channel). Francesco has published extensively, including two edited books and several policy reports.

 

Meet the Speakers

 

Mr Rémi ROVIRA
Managing Director
Alstom Digital Mobility
East Asia Alstom 

Rémi Rovira is the Managing Director (Alstom Digital Mobility) of East Asia, within the Asia-Pacific region of Alstom, effective 1 September 2019. He is responsible for the growth and operations of the digital mobility business of Alstom, including signalling, covering all countries in East and Southeast Asia except China.

Rémi has over 20 years of professional experience in the transportation industry, working across businesses and geographies. He joined the Alstom Group in 2008 in Paris, France as the Automatic Train Control Department Manager overseeing close to 20 metro project deployments in the world. Since then, Rémi has headed several new units across Asia, such as the Department of Engineering in Bangalore, India and the Signalling Engineering department of Asia Pacific, to transform the region’s engineering and innovation competencies in the signalling field. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Director of the Development Centre and Innovation Centre in Madrid, Spain, incubating new breakthroughs in digital mobility frontiers.

Rémi graduated from École Spéciale des Travaux Publics, du bâtiment et de l’industrie (ESTP Paris) with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He also holds a master’s degree in Electronics and Computer Science from École Nationale Supérieure d’Électrotechnique, d’Électronique, d’Informatique, d’Hydraulique et des Télécommunications (ENSEEIHT).

 

Ms Preeti GUPTA
Corporate Affairs Director
BMW GROUP ASIA

Preeti joined BMW Group Asia in 2016 and is responsible for formulating and driving the strategy for both internal and external communications, for both BMW and MINI brands, in this region to help strengthen the corporate, brand and product perceptions.

She started her career in the US and then spent three years working in India before moving to Singapore in 2010. She has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.

 

 

Mr Ulrich ANTONI 
Head of Natural Rubber Procurement ,
Global Natural Rubber Sustainability Manager
Pirelli

Mr. Antoni works for Pirelli and covers the positions of Pirelli Head of Natural Rubber Procurement and Global Natural Rubber Sustainability Manager. He is a member of the SGX Rubber Committee and previously served as the Chairman of SICCRA (Singapore International Chamber of Commerce Rubber Association) and as a member of the SICC Board of Directors (Singapore International Chamber of Commerce) from 2013 – 2017. Mr. Antoni joined Pirelli in 1992 and covered several responsibilities in Logistics and Procurement in Italy, Germany, China and Singapore. He graduated with a Master of Business Administration and Engineering from the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

 

Mr Alessandro Mario MOTTA
Independent Consultant in Digital, Marketing and Communication
Pirelli Asia

Alessandro Mario Motta is an independent consultant in Digital, Marketing and Communication currently employed in Singapore by Pirelli Asia, after more than 20 years of work in UK and Italy for the Pirelli Group, including Pirelli Real Estate (now Prelios). Worked as Head of Internet Activities in Telecom Italia and was founder and CEO of K-Team Consulting, a small digital consultancy firm working with agencies like Sapient (Publicis) M&C Saatchi, DGT Media, Media Engine and Webscience, a spin-off of Milan’s Polytechnic (Polytechnic di Milano). Clients included Della Valle (Tod’s. Hogan, Fay, Roger Vivier), Maire Tecnimont, Edison, Lavazza and other Italian and Swiss SMEs. Motta has been founder and the Managing Director of WiseKey Italia, a subsidiary of WiseKey S.A., a Swiss company specialized in cyber security, digital identity with a patented cryptographic Root of Trust (“RoT”) and started up Certifeye, a company that patented in EU a mobile anti-counterfeiting solution, based on a second generation QR-code, activated via an in-cloud trusted authenticity verification process.

Mr BAI Zhiyong
Head of Mobility and Head of Europe Desk
Singapore Economic Development Board

Zhiyong is currently Head of Mobility and Head of Europe Desk at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). In his role as Head of Mobility, he is responsible for industry development strategy for the Mobility sector. As Head of the Europe Desk, he manages EDB’s engagements with visiting European delegations, trade associations and chambers of commerce.

Zhiyong began his professional career in management consulting as a Business Analyst at Kearney, and was last Managing Consultant at MasterCard Advisors before joining the Economic Development Board.

 

All participants will have to complete a compulsory travel declaration, and will undergo temperature screening at the registration counter.  Those with temperatures are above 38 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to take part in the programme.  Those showing flu-like symptoms (cough, runny nose, etc) will be asked to seek medical attention immediately.
