Mr Benedict Chia, Director (Strategic Issues) from the National Climate Change Secretariat in the Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore
Benedict is responsible for economic research, the development of low carbon technologies and futures work. Prior to that, he has served in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, as well as the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.
Mr Chia graduated from Oxford University with a Masters of Arts in Economics & Management, and a Masters of Science in Development Economics.
Dr Isabelle de Lovinfosse, Prior Senior policy manager, European negotiations, Climate and Environment UK Government, Cabinet Office and Department for Exiting the European Union, London, UK
Isabelle is an expert in sustainability policies with over 15 years of academic, consultancy and public sector experience. She has a passion for enhancing sustainability in all areas of the economy, research and education.
She is currently working as an independent advisor in Singapore, after 5 years as a senior climate, energy and environment policy advisor in London with the British Government. Prior to this, she was a senior consultant at Ecofys (now Navigant).
Isabelle holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Louvain (Belgium), and was Associate Lecturer in International Environment Policies at the Open University in London.
Ms Ann Bernal, Senior Program Manager, Green Freight Asia (GFA)
Based in Singapore, Ann drives cross-sector collaborations for Green Freight Asia to accelerate the adoption of emissions-reduction practices in Asia-Pacific. She has been with GFA for 2 years and works with industry leaders in creating an enabling environment for sustainable road freight implementation.
Prior to GFA, Ann worked in social services leading partnerships and resource development, which helped transformed a non-profit in Singapore into a large charity ($10M gross annual receipts category). In the Philippines, under the Coalition Against Corruption initiative, she developed a citizen participatory audit tool to prevent corruption in public procurement in government hospitals.
Her education background includes a Master of Tri-Sector Collaboration from the Singapore Management University and a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines.
Mr Lionel Steinitz, Chief Executive Officer, LYS Energy Group
Lionel Steinitz is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of LYS Energy Group, a Singapore based solar power producer (IPP) that builds, owns and operates solar PV Systems for commercial, industrial and public sites in the Asia Pacific region.
In addition, as a values-driven professional who has been active in the renewable energy space – through his own consultancy firm, advising governments, corporations and investors on project structuring and financing, and advisory on RE Policies – Lionel is also the Chief Executive Officer of Green Freight Asia (GFA), a non-profit organization, which promotes fuel efficiency and reduction in transport-related emissions from road freight in Asia.
Prior to that, Lionel worked at ING Singapore as Director, Fixed Income Trading for G-10. He has over 10 years of experience as a derivatives trader and fixed income specialist. He has advised several governments and financial institutions and has overseen the development of over 250MWp of renewable energy projects across various technologies.
Lionel has received several endorsements and prices for his expertise in sustainability and sustainable finance, and is regularly invited as a guest speaker to high-level conferences, MBA Programs, or educational courses in the region.
