On 8 May, EuroCham’s Circular Economy Committee organised a site visit to Ravago’s manufacturing plant. A vibrant round table discussion with DutchCham (Dutch Chamber of Commerce Singapore)‘s Sustainability Committee unfolded following the site visit.

We would like to express our gratitude to our host (who is also the Co-Chair of the Circular Economy Committee), Ms Jessy Chu (Ravago) and her team for showing us around the plant. And a big thank you to Ms Lieke Rijken (Innoboost), Ms Marieke Nispeling (FrieslandCampina) and Ms Afke Hemmes (Hemmes Sustainability Management) from DutchCham for leading the round table discussion on plastics’ recycling, challenges and opportunities for the companies.

Belgium company, Ravago, has been operating in Singapore since 1978 and is one of the 45 manufacturing facilities worldwide under Ravago group. They specialise in recycling of petrochemical, industrial and post-consumer waste and process ⅓ of Singapore’s total plastic waste. The Singapore plant can process 30.000kg of waste per day and is highly automated – only 3 plant managers are needed for a production line to run uninterrupted and smoothly. Their sustainability commitments go even further – beyond giving plastic waste a second life, they keep on pushing the boundaries of recycling technologies and focus on decarbonisation solutions – water recycling solutions and energy efficiency.

We would like to thank all who joined us and made this event a successful one!
