Synopsis

In this new year, developed markets are marked by strong consumer demand, while emerging markets are hoping for their travel and tourism sectors to re-open. New variants however keep coming amidst global vaccine inequity. Meanwhile, inflation has risen in most parts of the world, and the US Federal Reserve is on course to normalise its policy stance. Beyond the macro cycle, Asian economies remain committed to seeking further gains from trade through multilateral trade agreements like RCEP. Where are the risks and opportunities around this narrative, both at the country and sector levels?  Join us for a presentation, panel discussion and Q&A on the 25th of February 2022, at 5.00 PM – 6.00 PM with Dr Taimur Baig, Chief Economist at DBS and Dr Deborah Elms, Founder and Executive Director of the Asian Trade Centre.
