The Packaging Committee

The Packaging Committee brings together market players in the industry to discuss wide ranging issues concerning packaging, recycling, and waste management in Singapore, as well as in the region. Comprising Members from a wide range of industries, from Phram to Alcohol, the Committee will identify areas of common interests, voice problems and share insights for new developments and industry best practices.

We aim to:
  • Represent European companies that have products that require large amounts of packaging for the Singapore and ASEAN markets.
  • Provide a platform for members to keep abreast of latest developments in the regulation of packaging in Singapore, which is often used as a model for the region.
  • Facilitate information exchange and cooperation between European and Asian stakeholders
  • Communicate and provide feedback to areas of concern to the authorities and regulators for policy-making consideration
This year the Committee has been in active consultation with NEA in anticipation of the upcoming mandatory packaging waste reporting scheme that NEA will be implementing in Singapore within the next few years. The Committee has prepared a White Paper for the Agency, in response to their specific questions on the industry's view of the upcoming scheme as well as detailed information on similar schemes in other countries.
