WINE & SPIRITS COMMITTEE OVERVIEW
Wine and spirits are among Europe’s most globally recognised export products shaped by place, craft and centuries of tradition. In Singapore, geographical indications protected under the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement give European producers a meaningful competitive edge, safeguarding the authenticity of wines, spirits and agri-food products in one of Asia’s most influential consumer markets. As the sector adapts to shifting consumer preferences, sustainability expectations and evolving regulations, Singapore remains a strategic platform for European businesses to connect with the wider region through a trusted, well-governed and dynamic marketplace.
WINE & SPIRITS COMMITTEE MISSION
To support a responsible, sustainable and well-regulated wine and spirits sector in Singapore, promoting responsible consumption, cultural exchange and a competitive marketplace for European producers.
COMMITTEE OBJECTIVES
The Wine & Spirits Committee objectives are to promote responsible drinking and safe nightlife practices by supporting the Singapore Alliance for Responsible Drinking and related safe clubbing initiatives, working with industry partners, nightlife associations and public agencies to encourage responsible consumption, safer entertainment environments and constructive public-private collaboration. The Committee also aims to advance sustainability and circularity in the sector, supporting practical initiatives such as the Glass Recycling Pilot Project to explore more sustainable packaging and waste-management solutions, while encouraging industry participation in Singapore’s broader circular economy and environmental sustainability goals. Finally, the Committee works to strengthen industry collaboration and public-private dialogue, serving as a bridge between wine and spirits companies, hospitality and nightlife stakeholders, sustainability partners and government agencies to address shared challenges and promote a balanced, responsible and future-ready industry.
