INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS COMMITTEE OVERVIEW
Intellectual property protection is increasingly central to global competitiveness, particularly for European companies operating across technology, creative industries, manufacturing and research-driven sectors. Singapore has positioned itself as an IP hub, supported by strong legal frameworks and a growing ecosystem of innovation. However, enforcement challenges continue to evolve. Counterfeiting, online marketplaces, cross-border e-commerce, small-parcel trade and complex regional supply chains create ongoing risks for businesses and rights holders. These developments require continued cooperation between industry and enforcement authorities.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS COMMITTEE MISSION
To strengthen intellectual property protection and enforcement across Singapore and the region, supporting innovation, creativity and long-term competitiveness for European businesses.
COMMITTEE OBJECTIVES
EuroCham Singapore Intellectual Property Rights Committee objectives are to promote strong IP protection standards and effective enforcement practices in Singapore and the region. The Committee also aims to facilitate dialogue between European businesses, enforcement agencies, regulators and EU institutions. In addition, the Committee shares industry perspectives on counterfeiting, digital infringement, e-commerce risks and cross-border enforcement challenges. Finally, the Committee supports alignment between Singapore’s IP framework and global best practices.
