DIGITAL ECONOMY COMMITTEE OVERVIEW
Singapore serves as a digital leader in ASEAN, taking a whole-of-government approach to advancing its digital economy through digital transformation, innovation and research, talent development, AI adoption, digital trust and infrastructure readiness. Led by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information and supported by agencies such as IMDA, GovTech, Digital Industry Singapore, AI Singapore and CSA, Singapore’s digital agenda reflects its commitment to strengthening national competitiveness and building a trusted, innovation-driven digital ecosystem. The 2023 EU-Singapore Digital Partnership further reinforces this ambition by deepening cooperation on digital trade, trusted data flows, AI, digital identities, standards and emerging technologies, positioning Singapore as a key digital hub and strategic partner for Europe in ASEAN.
DIGITAL ECONOMY COMMITTEE MISSION
To advance Singapore’s digital future by connecting European businesses, policymakers and ecosystem partners around emerging technologies, AI, digital governance and cross-sector transformation.
COMMITTEE OBJECTIVES
EuroCham Singapore Digital Economy Committee objectives for 2026 are to promote emerging technologies and innovation adoption, supporting members in understanding the opportunities and implications of emerging technologies, including quantum technologies, autonomous enterprise ecosystems and next-generation digital solutions, through knowledge-sharing sessions and cross-sector engagements. The Committee also aims to advance AI, data governance and digital trust, providing a platform for discussion on AI adoption, data governance, sovereignty, security and responsible digital transformation, helping members navigate evolving regulatory, operational and trust-related considerations. In addition, the Committee works to support workforce upskilling and digital transformation, facilitating dialogue on the impact of digitalisation and AI on jobs, skills and organisational transformation, including engagement with relevant government stakeholders such as the Ministry of Manpower. Finally, the Committee seeks to strengthen cross-committee and public-private collaboration, building bridges between the Digital Economy Committee and other EuroCham committees, including Manufacturing & Supply Chain and Education & Human Capital, to support practical cooperation on shared priorities such as innovation, talent, AI adoption and digital competitiveness.
