EuroCham launches the “Schuman Lecture Series” to promote Europe in Singapore and to commemorate the remarkable achievements of European integration since its modest beginnings in the European Coal and Steel Community in 1951. This annual event starting in 2009 will alternatively be celebrated with Singaporean and European dignities. 

On Monday 7th December 2009, EuroCham will organize its first “Schuman Lecture” event with Guest of Honor President Romano Prodi, former President of the European Commission, and former Prime Minister of Italy.

President Prodi  presentation will focus on the key ingredients of success used in Europe that could be applicable for the future development of ASEAN. He will also speak about  the actual and future economic relationship between Europe and ASEAN. The Biography of President Prodi is available here.

This Gala Dinner is EuroCham’s most prestigious event of the year, gathering up to 500 guests including EU Ambassadors, Singaporean officials as well as top business executives from all over Europe and Singapore.
