Dinner with Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska
On 10th October 2017, EuroCham and its stakeholders had the opportunity to meet with Commissioner Bieńkowska over an exclusive dinner at the Fullerton Hotel.
This dinner offered an opportunity for Commissioner Bieńkowska to share about the new EU Industrial Policy Strategy that was unveiled on 13 September during President Juncker annual address on the state of the Union. The strategy is outlined in the Communication from the Commission Investing in a smart, innovative and sustainable industry a renewed EU industrial policy Strategy which was adopted the same day and will be a centre of the Commission’s action over the next 18 months.
Representatives from major European companies from the automotive, banking, ICT and professional services industries attended the dinner and shared their thoughts on the challenges of doing business in Singapore and Asia.
Prior to the dinner, Commissioner Bieńkowska met with Singapore Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry), Minister S Iswaran and had a small tour of the Airbus premise.

Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska is in charge of the EU single market, Industry, entrepreneurship and SMEs.
Prior to becoming a Commissioner in 2014, she has occupied Ministerial functions in the Polish government including the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Development.
