The EuroCham Sustainability Committee addresses issues ranging from waste management, littering to green technologies among others. The Committee supports mainstreaming sustainability by actively promoting resource-efficient business operations and a greener regulatory environment. Members define specific topics of interest and develop position papers while working closely with businesses and government representatives.
- Identify and understand the relevant issues faced by firms across diverse sectors
- Provide a platform for members to address common problems
- Strengthen the economies where our members operate in by advocating green organisational practices and sustainable operations
- Serve as a conduit between our members and the European and Singaporean political and economic authorities and business associations
On the 24th of May 2016, EuroCham was glad to participate to the Technical Workshop on Sustainable Packaging, organised by the WWF, with the support of the Singapore Packaging Agreement Governing Board. With the presence of speakers from WWF, Nestlé and Sealed Air, participants were able to exchange on the link to packaging and conservation, on the consideration of single impact categories for packaging changes, as well as on the value of a systems approach for more sustainable packaging solutions.
On the 25th of June 2015, the EuroCham Sustainability Committee hosted a meeting with representatives of regional embassies to present and discuss on the Sustainability Position Paper on "Degradable Packaging & Plastic Ban as a solution to Littering". Embassy representatives also received the latest updates on the views and recommendations of the European business community in Singapore.
