The Packaging Committee brings together market players in the industry to discuss wide ranging issues concerning packaging in Singapore, as well as in the region. Comprising major market players, the committee will identify areas of interests, voice problems and share insights for new developments and industry best practices.
- Represent European market players in the packaging industry in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region
- Provide a platform for members to keep abreast of latest developments in the industry
- Facilitate information exchange and cooperation between European and Asian stakeholders
- Communicate and provide feedback to areas of concern to the authorities and regulators for policy-making consideration
On the 24th of May 2016, EuroCham was proud to take part to the Final Industry Consultation on Packaging Waste Management organized by NEA, with the presence of Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources. This platform enabled the private sector to provide inputs on the possible introduction of mandatory requirements for more sustainable packaging waste management over the long term, as well as to learn more about the Singapore Packaging Agreement.
On the 9th of December 2015, the EuroCham’s Packaging Committee participated in the first Packaging Management Industry Consultation organised by the National Environment Agency. EuroCham’s members had a leading role in the discussion that gathered over hundred of participants from the industry.
On the 29th of October 2015, a Task Force was formed for the launching of the EuroCham Packaging Committee. The scope of the committee as well as the strategic alliances with government were discussed.
